Tree Removal Sydney, done safely & legally.
Certified AQF Level 3 arborists remove hazardous, diseased or unwanted trees across Greater Sydney — with council approvals handled and a fixed price agreed before we start.
What will tree removal cost you?
Every tree is different, so pricing depends on size, access and a few other factors. Build your job below for a realistic Sydney price range — then lock in an exact fixed quote with a site visit.
This is an indicative guide based on typical Sydney jobs, not a formal quote. Your final fixed price is confirmed after a quick (free) site assessment. Council DA handling, if needed, is +$200–$400.
Do you need council approval to remove your tree?
In Sydney, removing the wrong tree without approval can mean serious fines. The rules change by council and by tree. Answer three quick questions for general guidance — then we confirm it in writing for free, and handle any paperwork if it's needed.
General guidance only — every council's Development Control Plan differs and exemptions have conditions. We verify your specific tree against current local rules before any work, and lodge the DA for you if one's required.
Removal is high-risk work. We treat it that way.
A poorly executed removal can wreck a roof, injure someone, or land you a council fine. Here's what you're actually paying for when you choose a certified crew.
Led by a certified arborist
Removals are led by our AQF Level 3 arborist, Michael, backed by 16+ years' experience and working to Australian Standard AS4373. Fully insured, with certificates supplied on request for strata and body corporate jobs.
Council-compliant, always
We assess your tree against local rules before we start and handle the Development Application if one's required — so the job is legal and you're never the one exposed.
Fixed prices in writing
A detailed written scope with a locked price before we lift a saw. No day-rate surprises, no "we found extra work" mid-job. What we quote is what you pay.
Modern rigging & crane access
Precision lowering systems, climbing gear, cranes and stump grinders let us dismantle trees over houses and pools piece by piece — controlled, not dropped.
24/7 emergency crews
Storms don't keep business hours. Our make-safe crews average 45–90 minutes within 30km of the CBD for fallen trees and hanging limbs.
Tidy finish, free mulch
We chip on site and leave you premium mulch for the garden (saves $150–$200) or haul it to licensed facilities. We never send timber to landfill, and we sweep up.
From first call to clean yard
A proven sequence that keeps the job safe, legal and predictable.
Photos & fast advice
Call or text photos and your suburb. We give quick guidance on cost, urgency and council requirements — usually within 2 hours.
Site assessment & fixed quote
We confirm species, size, access and targets below, then give you a written scope with a fixed price. No surprises.
Council approval, if needed
We check whether a DA is required and prepare the report and paperwork. Exemptions confirmed in 24 hours; full DAs typically 4–8 weeks.
Safe, rigged removal
We dismantle in controlled sections, lowering heavy limbs by rope. Near powerlines we coordinate with Ausgrid / Endeavour Energy.
Chip, clear & mulch
Everything's chipped on site. Keep the mulch free for your garden or we haul it away. Stump grinding available as an add-on.
Insurance docs & follow-up
Storm job? We supply photos and reports for your claim. Need ongoing pruning or health checks? We'll schedule them.
An 18m eucalypt was leaning toward the house. They handled the council DA and removed it over two days with crane access — not a scratch on the house or garden. Professional start to finish.
Killara, North Shore
Storm left a huge branch hanging over our pool. Called at 6pm, they were here by 7:30pm and made it safe, then finished the removal next morning. Insurance paperwork was spot on.
Chatswood, North Shore
Rear-yard access through the house was our worry. They roped and lowered everything by hand — no damage to walls, floors or pavers. Proper craftsmen who care about the details.

Tree removal Sydney FAQs
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Sydney?
Often, yes — but not always. Trees are generally exempt if they're under 5m, within about 3m of your home (some councils allow up to 5m), dead or genuinely dangerous, or covered by the 10/50 bushfire rule. Larger, heritage, street or protected native trees usually need a Development Application. Rules vary by council, so we check yours in writing before any work — use the checker above for a quick read.
How much does tree removal cost?
As a Sydney guide: small trees (under 5m) $525–$900, medium (5–10m) $900–$1,800, large (10–20m) $1,800–$3,500, and extra-large (20m+) $3,500–$8,000+. Access, proximity to structures, stump grinding and waste removal all shift the figure. The estimator above gives you a tailored range; the site visit gives you a fixed price.
Do you offer 24/7 emergency tree removal?
Yes. For storm-damaged, fallen or dangerous trees we run crews around the clock, including public holidays, averaging 45–90 minutes to make-safe within 30km of the CBD. The emergency callout is $150–$300 and is waived if the full removal proceeds the same day.
What happens to the tree and stump afterwards?
We chip all branches and trunk sections on site. You can keep the mulch free for your garden (saves $150–$200) or we haul it to licensed facilities. Stump grinding is an add-on ($150–$400) that removes the stump below ground so it won't regrow, attract pests or trip anyone.
Can you remove palm trees?
Yes — palm removal is routine for us, typically $400–$1,500 depending on height, species and access. Palms in tight spots are lowered with rope systems so nothing hits the fence or the neighbour's roof.
Are you insured and certified?
Yes. Removals are led by our AQF Level 3 arborist Michael, with 16+ years' experience, and we're fully insured with public liability cover. We work to NSW regulations and Australian Standard AS4373, and we'll supply certificates and qualifications on request — handy for strata and body corporate approvals.
